Kim Weitkamp travels the continent, on a full time basis. as a performer, speaker and corporate coach, teaching the use of story in communication and leadership. During her travels, she started approaching people, who appeared to be over 65, and casually asking them their 'story'.
Most people were excited, almost relieved, to have someone ask about their life. At first, Kim thought she was doing them a favor...but that quickly changed.
Impacted by the amazing stories and histories of the people she talked to, Kim decided to not only start sharing the stories she gathered, but to also try and mobilize the general public to start asking questions and listening to this amazing group of people.
"We are one of the few societies that does not revere and listen to our elders. That is like knowing where buried treasure is, and never digging it up."
Kim realizes that stories are a neccessity in the life of every human. As she listened to and collected their stories she decided to start the Wrinkles Project. She passionatly believes that stories are the foundation of history, heritage and healing.
